LOWER DANUBE. Geto-Dacians. 1st century BC. 'Denarius' (Silver, 19 mm, 3.81 g, 6 h), imitating a Roman Republican denarius of L. Scribonius Libo (62 BC). BON•EVENT - LIBO Diademed head of Bonus Eventus to right. Rev. PVTEAL / SCRIBON Garlanded Puteal Scribonianum (Scribonian wellhead), decorated with two lyres. Cf. Crawford 416/1a-b (for prototype). Areas of weakness and with numerous faint cleaning scratches, otherwise, very fine.
